MEET THE FAM!

Justin grew up on St. Simons Island, attended Glynn Academy, and then ventured off to Furman University in Greenville, SC. With a degree in Biology, he of course went on to pursue a career in Finance that led him to Charlotte, NC. 
 
Sarah grew up on a dairy farm in New Jersey…yes, you read that right! She dreamed of being a Broadway star, but a different path led her to Syracuse University where she got a degree in Television, Radio, and Film. For nearly 10 years she worked in television production, mainly covering NASCAR and a variety of racing series around the country for SPEED Channel (Fox Sports) out of Charlotte, NC.
 
You guessed it, the couple met in Charlotte, playing flag football of course!  The short version, they got married, moved to Nashville, had a couple babies, and then decided to move back closer to family because having kids is no joke!
 
With two kids in tow, Justin and Sarah headed to SSI with a crazy idea to open up a bagel shop at the beach, bringing a little bit of a northern flair to the south! In June of 2015, Sandy Bottom Bagels started serving fresh baked NY bagels to locals and tourists alike. The idea was to keep it simple and grow from there. Through a few hurricane evacuations, the global pandemic, a third baby boy, and many other ups and downs, SBB has grown to become a popular staple on SSI!
 
Beyond the bagels, the Callaways are committed to being involved in the community. They love supporting many of the local charities, schools, and recreation sports teams. Living at the beach is pretty fun too!
